Media Record (Query Help)
u Media record display and data entry form.
u Some specific fields in the Media record :
u The Media Title must be manually entered and is used in Media Labels. For tapes containing multiple events, the media title can be used to give an indication of its contents and will be used in the Media label.
u If the Media contains a single event, the media title will be printed in front of the event title in the media label
u The title information in the media label will be filled according to the following rules:
u Delete can only be used for "empty" media, i.e Media records with no recorded events. When executed, a dialog will be presented for the user to inform the reason for deleteing the Media record, and that information will be record in the Media LIbrary Log.
u ML_DelReason popup holds a list of pre-defined 'delete motifs', and can be customized to address valid reasons.
u Each event's TC IN and TC OUT (including Frame) can be modified directly in this screen by Alt-Dbl-Clicking on the desired field. Time Codes must be entered in the format hh:mm:ss, and Tab (shift-Tab) allows one to navigate on the spreadsheet.
u Clicking Check Out button will bring a list of Library users for selection, and a usage Log will be generated. It is possible to "transfer" one Media from one user to another, by executing the Check out on a media that is already checked out. In such case, the usage log will indicate a "transfer", instead of a regular check out.
u In the Traffic Parameters screen it is possible to indicate the number of days a media can be checked out, depending on the type of material recorded. That value is used to calculate the Expect Recv date whenever the media is checked out. A value of "00/00/00" in the Expect Recv tells that no estimate date of return is indicated.
u The Expect Recv date field is also found in the Media Library lists.
Recording events on a Media via the Events Palette
The Events Palette brings up a floating palette with a list of events in the database. The type of events shown is selected from a popup menu in the palette.
The Events Palette can be used to add events to a Media record, or to duplicate events from one tape to another. Please see the documentation on the Media Duplicate Function.
The process for copying events from one tape to another is listed here for illustration:
Media Ownership Information
The Media Ownership field is updated automatically by 4C-TV according to the rules that follow:
As a shortcut for entering Other Material events into the database, the button Other Materials can be used to record the events on a specific Media.
u To facilitate entering multiple events on the same Media, many fields are maintained between executions of the Other Material button, like: Supplier, Event Type, Title, Event, Channel, AWB, Origin, Version...
u This function facilitates the process of inputing all the events corresponding to Other Materials tapes.
