u All Component Editing screens show a list of Media assigned and stored at it.
u The Library Shelf record editing screen has additional parameters used to specify the types of Media formats & Contents acceptable in that Shelf:
- The Shelf Type can be Mixed or Single format:
- For Single format shelves, the Format field indicates what media format is allowed in all bins in the Shelf. The system will only assign media of the format indicated to any of this Shelf’s Bins.
- For Mixed format shelves the Space Available will indicate how much of the shelf is still available and this information will be updated automatically as items are assigned to it. (if the Validate Manual Bin # is in effect, manually placed items will also update the space available in the shelf).
- The list of Acceptable Formats contains the media formats that can be stored in that Shelf as well as the maximum quantity of each Format. The maximum for each Format is used to calculate the space available in the shelf as items are assigned to it.
- The list of Acceptable Contents is used to limit the type of Material assigned to the shelf. This list is used ONLY for automatic assignment purposes. Users are allowed to assign ANY media to ANY shelf manually, no validation is done for manual assignment (except for Bin Number validation if selected).
