Program Rights Record
u Program Rights record display and data entry form.
u The Program Rights record indicates the broadcast rights for programs: expired (HH), active (AA), or future (FF).
u Historical Rights provides a list of programs that have been broadcast and whose contracts have expired.
u Active Rights provides a list of programs whose contracts are still active.
u Future Rights provides a list of programs whose broadcast rights have been confirmed in a "Deal Confirmation", but are still listed as Active Rights in another contract record.
u The Contract page includes the Territory the Licensed Rights applies to.
u Field License Period contents is copied from the Program’s Contract, but can be modified if the Programs’s Special indicator is set. The system uses this value to calculate the Program’s Avail End, adding the number of months to the Program’s Avail Start.
u If the program's Avail Start date is changed to a value past any of the program's already scheduled plays, an alert will be presented and the change will not be allowed. Any scheduled exhibitions must be removed before the Avail Start can be changed to a later date. At the bottom of the form users can find the program's first and last scheduled plays.
- If a title is assigned to an Avail List (or has a premiere date), it is not possible to change the Program Rights avail start date past it. The title must be removed from the Avail before attempting to change its avail start date.
- If a title is assigned to an Avail List and its Program Rights avail start date changes (to a valid value) an automatic notification mail is generated.
u Whenever the Avail End is modified, either directly by changing the Avail Start or via changes to the program's Contract (License Period), the system will check for any program play scheduled for a date later than the new Avail End.
u Events in the monthly schedule after the program's Avail End will be automatically removed, thus leaving "holes" in the monthly schedule.
u An Schedule Log will be generated inform of the occurence, and the user will be alerted whenever any Programming screen is opened for the affected dates.
u A Log record will also be added to the Contract for each Program whose programming events have been removed automatically .
u It the the reponsibility of Acquisitions (Business Affairs) to inform Programming of such occurrences, and it is Programming's responsibility to fill up any "holes" left in the Programming Schedule.
u Before applying any Avail changes Business Affairs should check a program's Avail End & First/last Schedule dates, to identify those programs and events that will be affected, specially when changes are made to a Contract's License Period, affecting many programs.
- An extra confirmation message is presented to users when trying to make changes to Contract information for other Territories than the local database (ex. user in Miami making changes to Ole Territory information).
- User confirmation is required only when making changes to active Rights.

u The Services panel lists ALL Services included in the Licensed Rights.
- The panel shows details for the Services licensed under the corresponding Rights. If the program is licensed to multiple Services, multiple tabs will be displayed.
- The Modify Service button (
) allows changes to Licensed Service record information, like Avail List ID, Inventory, etc.
- The Avail List popup will bring a list of up to 12 (valid) Avail List month’s the title may be assigned to, as well as options for On Hold Avail List. If the Planned Premiere date is within the Avail List month it is preserved, otherwise it will be cleared out .
- The None option will remove the title for the assigned Avail List.
- Users do not have to open the Licensed Service record to assign the title to an Avail List.
- If automatic burst plan calculation is in effect, the title’s burst plan will be recalculated starting in the new Avail List month.
- The same Avail List assignment popup is present in the Program Contract maintenance screen.
- The Inventory popup lists possible inventory codes and the License Service is assigned to the selected Inventory.
- A "New Inventory" option allows immediate creation of new Inventory codes, which will be assigned to the Licensed Service and added to the popup. (changing or removing Inventory codes must be done from the Popup list maintenance screen)
- Active and Future Rights can be modified, but changes to Historical rights are not allowed.
u The Activate button turns a Future Right into an Active Right, thus making the corresponding Program available for scheduling within it’s avail window.
u For Historical Rights records, a second tab (History) is enabled, that provides access to the Program's historical rights information.
u The Reinstate button reverses a Historical Right back as an Active Right, thus making the corresponding Program again available for scheduling within its avail window. The record must be in modify mode for the Reinstate button to become available.
u The Delete button erases only records related to Future Rights. This function is not available in any other case
